Smart Greenhouse for Tropical Crops
Faculty of Management Sciences , Sriracha Campus
Details
The Faculty of Agriculture developed a smart greenhouse for tropical crops such as chili, tomato, and cucumber, equipped with IoT systems to regulate temperature, humidity, lighting, and precision irrigation, reducing losses and improving yields.
The greenhouse also incorporated rooftop solar power and rainwater harvesting for reuse, serving as a model for energy-efficient, eco-friendly agriculture and as a practical classroom for over 350 students.
In its first year, water use was reduced by 42%, average yields increased by 27%, and chemical use dropped by 33%. The project supports SDG 2, SDG 9, and SDG 13, and fulfills 2024 indicators 34 and 96.
