Green Dormitory Energy Saving Program
Faculty of Sports Science , Kamphaeng Saen Campus
Details
This project retrofitted student dormitories on campus into green, energy-efficient facilities. LED lighting replaced old bulbs in every room, motion sensors were installed in common areas to reduce unnecessary electricity use, and solar panels on rooftops generated clean energy for the buildings.
Training sessions were conducted with over 600 students on efficient energy use and maintenance of electrical appliances. A “Smart Energy Room” competition was also launched to build awareness and motivation among residents.
Over 12 months, electricity consumption decreased by 28% compared to the previous year, saving more than 1.2 million THB annually. The project aligns with SDG 7, SDG 11, and SDG 13, and fulfills 2024 indicators 34 and 96.
